Legal Hub -> Stop Safeguarding Now Coalition Terms and Conditions

Version 1.0 – Last Updated: February 2026

(1) Nature of the Coalition

(1.1) Voluntary Association: The SSNC is a decentralized grassroots advocacy group. We are a coalition of survivors, families, and activists dedicated to restoring the “Threshold of Harm” to a criminal law standard and challenging the safeguarding industry.

(1.2) We Do Not Offer Legal Advice: The SSNC is not a law firm or a regulated legal body. Content provided on the website or through your wider association with SSNC, by Volunteers or other Members, including on our exclusive membership pages within the Membership Hub, is for informational and campaign purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice.

(1.3) The SSNC is Non-Statutory: We are entirely independent. We do not work with or for any Local Authority, the NHS, the Police or any company or organisation that provides services to them.

(1.4) No Intention to Create Legal Relations: Membership of the SSNC is provided free of charge. These Terms are a statement of the coalition’s values and rules of conduct; they are not intended to create a legally binding contract between the SSNC and its members, nor do they create a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship.

(2) Free Membership and Anonymity

(2.1) Eligibility: Membership is open to those negatively affected by the current safeguarding system in the United Kingdom. You must be over the age of 18 to be a Member.

(2.2) Pseudonymity: We strongly encourage the use of pseudonyms. Members using their real names do so at their own risk.

(2.3) Internal Integrity: You agree not to attempt to “de-mask” or de-anonymize other members. Any attempt to link a member’s pseudonym to a real-world identity is grounds for immediate permanent expulsion.

(3) Media and Journalist Restrictions

(3.1) Membership Boundary: Accredited or Citizen Journalists are strictly prohibited from joining the private Membership Hub or private forums but we welcome contact from them through The SSNC contact form.

(3.2) Personal Survivors: Journalists who are personal survivors of the system and wish to join must declare their profession to the Facilitators. They are strictly prohibited from reporting on, recording, or quoting any member interactions without written authorisation directly from the Founder or a person appointed at the Founder’s sole discretion.

(3.3) Non-Disclosure: All members agree never to “leak” or report on internal strategy, private support discussions, or the identities of other members to any media outlet, state body or organisation or person working on behalf of them.

(3.4) Jigsaw Identification: You agree never to share details that could lead to “Jigsaw Identification” (the piecing together of small details to identify a legally protected person).

(4) User-Generated Content & Gagging Orders

(4.1) Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your contributions do not breach “Gagging Orders” or “Transparency Orders” issued by the Courts.

(4.2) Indemnity: You agree to indemnify the SSNC against any legal costs or penalties arising from your breach of a court order.

(4.3) Licensing: By sharing a story (anonymized), you grant the SSNC a non-exclusive license to use that data for campaign statistics and advocacy beyond the lifetime of your membership.

(5) Decision Making and Weighted Voting

(5.1) To maintain a balance between individual lived experience and the resources of established groups, we use a Weighted Voting System.

(5.2) Tier 1 (Individual Members): Each verified member holds one (1) vote. The collective Tier 1 pool accounts for 60% of the final decision weight.

(5.3) Tier 2 (Coalition Partners): Verified grassroots organizations hold weighted organizational votes. The collective Tier 2 pool accounts for 40% of the final decision weight.

5.4 Eligibility for Tier 2: To hold a weighted vote, an organization must:

(5.4.1) Have a 12-month demonstrable track record of advocacy.

(5.4.2) Be entirely independent of state funding.

(5.4.3) Be vouched for by an existing Tier 2 partner.

(5.5) Double Voting: Individuals holding a Tier 2 vote are honor-bound to abstain from Tier 1 voting.

(5.6) The Tie-Breaker: In the event of an exact 50/50 weighted deadlock, the Lead Facilitator holds the “Casting Vote” to prevent institutional paralysis. The Facilitator must provide a written rationale for their decision.

(6) Termination of Membership

(6.1) We reserve the right to terminate membership or organizational partnership immediately, without notice, for:

(6.2) Suspected infiltration by state agents or unauthorized journalists.

(6.3) Breach of the “Non-Disclosure” or “Jigsaw Identification” rules.

(6.4) Harassment, abuse, or “doxing” of other members.

(6.5) Misrepresenting the SSNC for personal or political gain.

(6.6) Serious breaches of the Volunteer Agreement (if you are a Volunteer).

(6.7) If you become ineligible for Membership (as set out within these wider terms and conditions).

(6.8) Breaching a Court Order or the wider law – related to your involvement in SSNC.

(7) Limitation of Liability & No Warranty

(7.1) As-Is Basis: Membership and access to the Website (both public and private facing) are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. The SSNC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy of information or the availability of the service.

(7.2) No Liability: The SSNC, its facilitators, and volunteers are not liable for any legal, financial, or emotional outcomes resulting from your participation in the coalition. We provide tools for resistance, but responsibility for your legal cases remains entirely with you.

(8) Volunteers

(8.1) In order to Volunteer for the SSNC, you must also be a Member. As such, all Volunteers are bound by these Terms and Conditions. If a Member is expelled from SSNC, they will also lose their Volunteer position automatically.

(9.1.1) VPNs and Encrypted Email (Proton/Riseup/Tuta).

(9.1.2) PGP Encryption for sensitive documents.

(10) Dispute Resolution

(10.1) Any disputes regarding these terms shall be governed by the laws of the relevant UK jurisdiction. Before seeking legal recourse, all parties agree to attempt informal mediation within the Membership Hub.

It remains your responsibility to periodically review them, whether you simply access the website or you are a Member. Your continuing Membership or use of the Stop Safeguarding Now Coalition website shall indicate your acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions that shall apply immediately.
