Member FAQs -> How Does the SSNC Protect My Information?

The Stop Safeguarding Now Coalition protects its’ members by encouraging them to not provide identifying information to begin with. In other words, “data minimisation”. Across all of our contact forms, and in registering, you are welcome to use a pseudonym. This makes us much less attractive to narcasistic Judges who are likely to have issued gagging orders, supposedly to protect the identity of your child or vulnerable adult family member but in reality to shield themselves and their so called professional counterparts from scrutiny.

It is important to remember that SSNC could at any time receive an order to disclose the information held. The Authorities can be assured that we will fight them to the end of the earth just to make a point and where we have a legitimate basis and we will call them out for doing so. It’s therefore essential that any information that we might be forced to disclose is absolutely useless to the authorities in the first place.

We don’t collect more information than we need to begin with and we encourage you to use your pseudonym and a psudonymn for your relatives throughout all dealings with Stop Safeguarding Now. Although we are a grassroots UK organisation, we strongly believe in your data rights including your right to be forgotten and the right for your data to be corrected. We ensure that we take all reasonable steps to protect the limited data that we do collect on our systems.

We would also encourage you to use a separate Email address that does not have your name linked to it when communicating with and receiving communications from SSNC. Organisations like Proton Mail and RiseUp are brilliant for resisting orders for information disclosure. You might also like to consider using a VPN to hide your IP address when logging into Email and in accessing the SSNC website.

We also offer PGP Encryption for Emails if you wish to communicate with us by encrypted Email. You can find our public key at the bottom of each page of the website. Individual Volunteers all have individual keys.

As much as the law is a total joke in terms of family rights, we always abide by the law. This gives the authorities one less stick to attempt to beat us with whilst we campaign for the law to be changed whilst fully utilising our collective Article 10 EcHR (European Convention on Human Rights) right to freedom of expression and our Article 11 EcHR right to freedom of association which Judges, as much as they might like to, can’t stop you or us from utilising to yours and our full advantage in a democratic society. These rights continue to apply despite the UK having left Europe.

You can find our more in the SSNC Privacy Policy linked at the bottom of every page.
